In September, L&Q undertook two public drop in events to share more detailed plans for the proposed development on the Citroen Garage Site following the Family Fun Day in July. These highlighted how feedback from the local community had been incorporated into the proposals and inspired elements of the design.
The events took place at Brentford Leisure Centre on Tuesday 5th and Thursday 7th September. Attendees, including local residents and councillors, were able to speak to the design and planning team, and many shared feedback on the proposals through the Commonplace website.
The application for the proposed development on the Citroen Garage Site has now been submitted, incorporating feedback from local residents during both periods of engagement and from the Commonplace website. You can comment on the application here .
The proposed development will offer over 400 new homes, including much needed family housing and 40% affordable homes. Along with this the new development will provide a mix of studio, 1, 2 and 3 bed homes available, a nursery, and a new public plaza.
On Saturday 8th July L&Q hosted a family fun day for Brentford residents. The event offered locals the opportunity to find out more about the affordable homes and open space L&Q is hoping to create on the Citroën Garage site.
Attendees were invited to get involved in the design of the new public square the development will house and asked them to vote on how they would like the space to look. L&Q’s PricedIn experts were also on hand to offer advice to first time buyers, explaining available options, such as shared ownership and Help to Buy. Feedback from the event will be fed into the design process.
Ed Tibbetts, Senior Design and Planning Manager from L&Q said: “It has been great to meet and get to know some of the local community in Brentford today. I hope they liked our plans for the new homes and public square and we welcomed their thoughts on how they would like it to look. We are looking forward to holding another event like this in the near future.”
